Support for ASUSTOR NAS devices

ASUSTOR offers an application called “DataSync Center” that supports various cloud providers. Unfortunately, Internxt is not listed as an option there.  Here is some information about the app: https://www.asustor.com/en-gb/app_central/app_detail?id=1341 https://www.asustor.com/en-gb/online/college_topic?topic=250 The ideal scenario would be to integrate Internxt into the ASUSTOR “DataSync Center”.

Another observation regarding file uploads (videos) using the Docker image: For the few files that did upload successfully via the Docker container from the ASUSTOR NAS, no thumbnails are displayed in the Internxt web view (i.e., in the browser). Thumbnails are present for video files that I upload via a Windows PC (i.e., using the Internxt app). So it seems to me that there is a difference depending on “how” the files are uploaded to the Internxt Drive.

I tried to set up your solution using Docker on an ASUSTOR NAS. In the process, I tested various WebDAV clients. I was unable to achieve stable operation using either the “Cloud Backup Center” (ASUSTOR's app) or the third-party software “Syncovery.” Uploads either abort and restart from the beginning or fail to start at all. Additionally, I’m looking for two-way synchronization (NAS <--> Internxt Cloud), but unfortunately, I can’t use the ASUSTOR software “DataSync Center”, which I’d need for this, with the Docker container. In short: After a long period of “trial and error,” I unfortunately cannot achieve stable operation with the current solution. Therefore, I would ask you to consider an alternative to the Docker container. This could be either a native Internxt app or the integration of Internxt into other existing apps. For example, into the ASUSTOR app “DataSync Center” or into a third-party app such as “Syncovery.” In the apps mentioned, you can already select various cloud providers (e.g., Amazon, Google Drive, OneDrive, PCloud, etc.)...

we would like to improve our Docker app! can you tell us which errors are you getting?

Regarding your question about the errors I noticed: I don’t want to share any personal data or log files on the forum. So I’ll try to describe them. I have noticed the following issues: 1) First, with the ASUSTOR “Cloud Backup Center,” it took several days just to create the directory structure (i.e., folders, but no files yet) on the Internxt drive. Once these folders were created, “access errors” typically occurred when uploading the first files (as far as I can interpret the errors). 2) When uploading larger files (e.g., videos ranging from 2 to 4 GB) from a simple folder structure, the upload frequently restarted from the beginning. That is, approximately 20% (example value) was uploaded, and then the process started over from the beginning. This repeatedly occurred with the affected files, and they could not be uploaded. How I investigated the behavior: - The diagnostics provided by the ASUSTOR “Cloud Backup Center” are unfortunately limited. It only shows which file is currently being transferred and at what percentage. - The Portainer log files provide better information, as they detail what is currently happening within the Docker container. That is, which folder is currently being created on the Internxt Drive or which file is currently being uploaded. - There, I noticed “access error messages” and the upload restarting regularly. - My impression is that the WebDAV clients are not working “properly” with the Docker container.

Additional notes regarding my previous post: - As soon as the directory structure I want to upload becomes “more extensive,” fundamental problems seem to arise. - By “extensive,” I mean specifically the number of folders, not the length of the path. - In my tests, I was only able to achieve successful uploads with very few folders and a small number of small files. - Unfortunately, all tests — especially those involving failures — are very time-consuming, and the Portainer logs (or console messages) are only temporary. - Furthermore, I am not an expert in this field and cannot interpret all the messages. - For my tests, I am using the following NAS with up-to-date software: https://www.asustor.com/en-gb//product?p_id=68

Another issue: - When I set the “WEBDAV_PROTOCOL” environment variable to “https”, a secure connection from the “Cloud Backup Center” to the Docker container is not possible. - This means I can only run the Docker container using “http.”

Here is an example error message from the ASUSTOR “Cloud Backup Center” after I tried again to upload a somewhat larger folder structure: “2026/05/22 06:48:29 Failed to sync with 75 errors: last error was: sync failed with 74 error(s): first error: couldn't list files: 401 Unauthorized” In other words, this is case 1), where all folders were created or checked for existence over the course of several hours, and then errors occurred during the file upload. Unfortunately, I was unable to find the corresponding entries or error messages in the Portainer log file.

hello! Point by point: - Regarding about supporting DataSync Center as you now right now we are not partners but we take note of that request! Maybe a faster option is to mail ASUSTOR so they include WebDAV as an option, which is an open protocol that you could implement it and use not only for Internxt - About the issues you are experiencing, the best way to help you would be if you sent them to hello@internxt.com and the team will start working on solving those issues you are mentioning

Thank you very much for your feedback. I just sent an email to ASUSTOR Support and copied “hello@internxt.com” on it. In the email, I mentioned both the integration of Internxt into the ASUSTOR “DataSync Center” and your suggestion to integrate “WebDAV.” In my opinion, direct communication between ASUSTOR and you (Internxt) would be most effective. Furthermore, as you suggested, I have sent a separate email to “hello@internxt.com” and included a link to this feedback entry. This should now provide “hello@internxt.com” with all the necessary information, and I would very much appreciate a resolution.

Perfect! We are reviewing it and will start working on it, so I hope to get back at you soon with good news
